RECENT STUDIES

We recently coauthored a published study with Elijah Wyckoff, a PhD candidate, Dr. Ken Loh, and the UCSD ARMOR Lab, alongside S10 Neuro practitioners Regan Wareham and Dave Sten. The research explored how Motion Tape, a flexible skin-applied strain sensor, can be used to detect asymmetry and monitor muscle engagement during deadlifts. In the study, Motion Tape revealed side-to-side imbalances in a trained athlete, capturing compensatory patterns that aren’t visible through standard video analysis. It also tracked how specific corrective interventions—such as unilateral loading, band resistance, and foot elevation—improved neuromuscular symmetry over time. This work demonstrates Motion Tape’s potential as a precise, real-time feedback tool for enhancing movement quality, preventing injury, and optimizing human performance across athletic, clinical, and military populations.
